The name

ELynah is a reference to Lynah Rink, home of the Cornell Big Red since 1957. Cornell men's hockey teams have won over 70 percent of home games since Lynah opened. From January 14, 1967 to January 29, 1972, Cornell was undefeated in 63 straight games at Lynah Rink. It is named in honor of James Lynah '05, Cornell director of athletics from 1935 to 1943.
